In 1985, when I embarked on my homeschooling journey in the Washington DC/MD area I found support to be limited as I searched for like minded folks. At that time the local Christian homeschooling community was strong in numbers but my inclusive philosophical and spiritual view just didn't match theirs. Therefore I continued on a quest to find my like minded home school community, which I personally found in The Learning Community International.
Support is very important as one embarks on this journey, although I must say it's much easier now than it was 20+ years ago. We really had a deep passion and pioneer sprit back then (just like the HK movement) and currently families look for support from the trail blazers. Fortunately, for me and the consultants with TLCI, who have such a passion for empowering individuals to discover paths of living and learning that support them in realizing their highest potential, women continue to choose homeschooling as an alternative education option for their children.
With the support and guidance of The Learning Community International www.tlci.us I have successfully homeschooled all three of my children kindergarten through high school. My oldest daughter has graduated college and my younger son and daughter are currently enrolled in college studies. I am very familiar with the needs of devotee families and children and I am convinced that The Learning Community International has the kind of flexibility and personal professional services to meet the needs of the ISKCON community, families and students.
I am very interested in offering The Learning Community International services to the Iskcon community at large in the area of homeschooling needs and institution services.
